Birthday post!

Aaahhh, welcome back to me and to you, if there's still anyone out there reading this! :D
In case you didn't know, I've been disconnected for few days, and I've like ten posts still to do to catch up with my current manicure...

But this one is just so special to me, because it's mainly about a package I got from my Polish fairy ♥ :D

Yeah, I got it for my birthday last month, but that's not the main reason why I loved it so much; just look at the colours:

Sabbatha always sends me a packet full of my ideal hues, how not to love her? Later I'll give a name to each bottle :>

I just have to mention another small packet I received from Lisa the very same day, a total surprise for me!

It contained two Look by BIPA colours: long story short: I was desperately seeking the one on the left, called "Metallic Hollogram" (swatch here), asked her about it long time ago, she then remembered it and bought it for me, together with another colour, "Purple-green" (swatched here from Nagellackprinzessin). Thank you so much, Lisa!

The Avon blue on the right is a charity purchase - *wink wink* -, it's called "Cosmic Blue".

Ok, time to name the Polish bottles!

1) Savina "Electric Green": this one is a complete stunner, in the bottle is a medium silvery glitter green, but while on the nails it gets ELECTRIC, SATURATED and the greeniest green, take a look here!

2) Colour Alike n. 205 (swatch here), dupe of L'Oreal n. 624 (swatch here).

I think I'll wear it over something else, I like the lime shine which turn peachy pink °_°

3) THE surprise item! China Glaze "DV8", an original CG holo *_* 

4) Colour Alike n. 480 (swatch here), Spookynails describes it as the blue "Ruby Pumps", guess I don't need to add anything more :D

5) SpaRitual "Ebb & Flow" mini bottle! It contains only 5ml of nailpolish, but the small bottle is so cute :D

6) Colour Alike n. 209, a total masterpiece!

7) My Secret n. 163 "Blue Angel", deep indigo base with blue miniglitters :3

8) Colour Alike (again! This brand really needs to open sales here in Italy :D ) n. 474, navy blue base and SHINY silver glitter-flecks *__________*

9) Inglot n. 203 ♥ ♥ ♥ I specifically requested this flakies because here in Italy we only have the classic ones - orange/green and blue/violet, I just needed the green/lime in my collection - plus, Inglot is half priced in Poland :D

I've made a quick swatch cap, don't ask me why I didn't swatched all the colours, because I've no idea:

New stuff (from august)

I'm way behind the latest adds, but these are the august ones:

From left: 

- L'Oréal Color Riche n. 609 "Divine Indigo": ok, it's more purple, but it's not a purple, and it's a L'Oréal, a brand I don't like so much; but I've seen swatches around the internet, and I liked it. Me weak :^(

- Kiko n. 389; yes, I've already worn it, a thing I don't do as I don't like trying new colours as soon as I get them...

- China Glaze "Midtown Magic": I found a store in my city of nail and hair supplies, there were stands from some nail companies, and I really liked this odd mix of autumnal shades of fine glitters in a vampy burgundy base... Swatched here by my loved SpookyNails, and I've discovered we bought it almost at the same time, without knowing it! :D

Then, a little package from my Swiss nailpolish fiend:

Left, Misslyn n. 537 "Golden Leaf", gold-old green glitters (or chunks) in a dense dark base, I guess it won't be much sparkly, an interesting finish :>

Right, another Catrice Effect Top Coat, "¿Holo Qué Tal?", which isn't holo at all. But it's... sugary, just like another top coat I own, the Essence "Love" top coat, so: comparison time!

"Love" top coat has finer glitters, and it changes from pink to green; "¿Holo Qué Tal?" has a bigger grain, and changes from blue-violet to pink (extrem angles, green too).

China Glaze - Rodeo Fanatic

Usually I put items in my WL without really knowing how that particular colour will appear to my eyes; yeah, swatches are good and useful, but sometimes reality is better than... your fantasy.

So, I read million times about the beauty of "Rodeo Fanatic" by China Glaze, but I must admit that none of the images I saw in these years ever properly rendered the deepness of this shade.
I know my pictures too will lack of that deepness, but this is my try, for all the nailpolish lovers who don't own this colour (yet!):

These are two simple coats, nailpolish is somewhat liquid, but manageable at the same time.

How much beautiful is this little duochrome shade?

Full sun (above) reveals all the turquoise shimmer inside, but it's almost a metallic colour.

Under artificial light, it doesn't change, great as well and you can still see its purple side!

Ideal shade for all the blue/teal/purple lovers out there: get it. Period.
Straight in my favourites bucket.

Yesss, another Spooky-swap :>

Sabbatha is my first nailpolish-mate, it's always a delight receiving a parcel from her, and I'm always in debt with her because of her kindness :>
She learnt fast my tastes and this time is just as GREAT as the others.
Sabbatha, you're my Santa! :D

But I was wondering: why show swaps in public? I don't know about you, but I filled a BIG part of my wishlist by looking at swap images too, because in them you can often find local precious (and inexpensive!) brands you might not be aware of, because they're unavailable in the country you live in....

We all know China Glaze, OPI, etc., but since the first swap with Sabbatha, I realized Poland is sometimes so much better than USA regarding nailpolish brands choice!
There are MANY brands, they have many ranges and colours are amazing, original, exciting; best part? They're CHEAP, and I say that in a good way, I mean: you SAVE your money and gain a top product.

So, Sabbatha, THANK YOU again!

2) Sensique Oriental Dream n. 259 "Moss Temple" ♥ (It's the exactly shade of "Green Brown" pigment by MAC made in a nailpolish formula)

3) Sensique Oriental Dream n. 265 "Sky Over Silk Road" ♥

4) Sensique Oriental Dream n. 264 "Jewel Of the Orient" ♥ Sabbatha swatched all these three (and the others from the Oriental Dream collection) here and here. Now that I have them in front of me, I understand why she was so amazed, they really look like bottled silk shantung!

5) Wibo n. 352: this is more than a metallic golden olive, it's not a shimmer, VERY deep and very opaque.

6) Golden Rose Scale Effect n. 15: *____________* multicoloured flakies *____________*

7) Nyx "Jungle": in my WL since the first time I wrote it, I then bought a similar shade (and sent it to Sabbatha :D), but Nyx is much more deep and vivid.

8) Wibo n. 355, a blue a day, the doctor's gone away...

Is it finished? NO! :D She gave me this pigment too!

I had to tweak colour, in order to show you as it is to the naked eye, and now that I upload this picture I'm blind, it's really as bright and ELECTRIC as above, just darker.
Colours like these look always lighter in pictures...

China Glaze - Frostbite

Et voilà, blue's back :>

And what a great blue!
Thanks to Nihrida who sold this to me, I finally canceled "Frostbite" from my wishlist.
It's just like I expected, and NO frost at all!

What do you think? To be honest, it's a tad darker in real life, it has those almost-neon pigments which make crazy my poor camera, it's VERY vivid and electric, but deeper.
I think the blue shimmer too contribute to enlighten the colour in photos...
I took a picture against light to show you a little how it really appears:

Mmmh, love at first sight.

Next picture is very true to life, under an artificial light:

I love how it's so blue that becomes almost blurple at edges!

Not much more to add: these are two coats plus some other strokes here and there; formula is a bit watery, but covers well, and clean-up is easy as usual.
Maybe it's a little slower in drying, but nothing you can't handle.

China Glaze - Emerald Sparkle + Ozotic Pro - Elytra n. 528

Hi again :>

This is the something else I layered over "Emerald Sparkle", I chose one of the best in my stash: Elytra n. 528!

Please note that my camera isn't the best, plus glitters are painful to photograph, especially these Elytra, later I'll explain why :>

Unfortunately, it looks like glitters are too spare on the nails, but you see that because pictures show you just the sparkling ones; to the naked eye, you can see the glitters of "Emerald Sparkle" under the ones of n. 528 melted together, like this:

Even if blurred, pic above is the best representation of the overall effect. Stunning, don't you find?

What about it in shade? Perfection, I see every colour in low light!

Too many pictures, I know, but I hope they helped you noticing the awesomeness of n. 528 when layered, and you don't have to apply it necessarily over a black base :>

China Glaze - Emerald Sparkle

Hi there!
I hope you all are spending a great summer time :>

Since we're in mid summer, I decided to wear a Christmas shade :D
What can I do, nothing can beat the summer sun and this nailpolish calls for light! :>
But first pic is in daylight:

"Emerald Sparkle" is made simply of silver glitter in a dark emerald green jelly base (not green glitter, as I read many times all around...).
Ahh, those of you who owns this gem already know its power, so I won't babbling useless facts about it, but these are the times I just wish I could get a better camera, but whatever, I still had to wait...

Next pic I don't like it at all, it doesn't show how beautiful is this colour :^(

These were three coats, because brush is long and slim, so it's easy to leave some balder spots, but it dries quickly, no complaints about it :> (oh well, maybe it would be better having a flatter brush...)

I leaved it without top coat, because I wanted to layer something else over it, but as you might have noticed, it needs it to SHINE like the sun and to obtain a perfectly smooth surface; moreover, top coat deepens and enhance the jelly base.

China Glaze - Flying Dragon + Vipera Jumpy n. 154

Hello!
Told you I wanted to layer something else over "Flying Dragon" :>
Well, some time ago I made my first swap with Sabbatha ( ♥ :D ), and she sent me two lovely little bottles... of red nailpolish.

I'm not a red nails girl, but I have to admit that those bottles contain precious shades - I'll show you it later -, so I always wanted to use them.
The darkest one I already somewhat used here :>

This time I completely layered the lighter one over my previous mani and this is the result:

Eh, I liked it :D

Awesomeness of this red is shown next, but you've already noticed on nails above the subtle duochrome glitters this shade contains, right?

In reality, this shade is mostly a carmine red (so, a pinkish red) jelly with duochrome fine glitters, and when layered over a dark colour it gives it a pink touch.
You can see it's pretty well pigmented, I applied just one coat (plus top coat) and it definitely changed the purple underneath!
Moreover, don't my nails look like made of tinfoil? Super smooth and super reflective!

Under an artificial light, which is warmer, it looks a true red glitter, so it's a little Christmas-y, but oh well, who cares, I'll wear it only out of Christmas-time :D

China Glaze - Flying Dragon

A break from all the blues I wore last weeks :D

This is the famous "Flying Dragon" by China Glaze, a shade as beautiful as tricky is its application:

These are two coats with some touch-ups here ad there to cover balder areas, but its formula, based on neon pigments, makes this nailpolish a little bastard :D

It dries the very next second the brush leaves your nail surface, so you have to apply this faster than light, but in a homogeneous way, otherwise any error will be visible.
It was the second time I wore this shade, and I didn't remember it was that tricky, for me at least.

Being a neon shade (but it's dark!), it dries quickly and matte, like this:

Top coat brings out all the blue and pink glitters, but since they are almost non-sparkly (strange thing!), they aren't visible more far than from a close look...
In my opinion, it needs two coats of top coat in order to obtain a perfectly smooth and shiny surface, because with just one coat nails are a little rough:

But I'm planning to layer something else over it, so I decided not to weigh nails down :>

China Glaze - Agent Lavender + flakies

Fantastic colour and you know I love those nail-art flakies I already used :>

I'm not into intricate details on nails, and this time I decided for a "french-flakie" mani!

"Agent Lavender" is a perfect light lavender pastel, formula's easy to apply, no streaks, no mess.

Two coats of polish, and it covers all well, I don't have complaints about it!

These are the flakies I used, from Fontana Contarini's range for nailart. I love the colour base, they go so well with cold shades!

During these days other lovely ladies gave me some awards!
I don't "do" them, especially if they require talking about me, simply because I'm a reserved person, plus from a couple of weeks I'm terribly busy "outside", but obviously I appreciate them and the people who decide my blog is worth some attention :>

juntasperonorevueltas gave me a Sunshine Award: I like these girls because not only they're kind, honest and write clear and complete reviews, but they have a beautiful cat too :D
Same award from todoslosesmaltessonpocos, which I didn't know before, but I completely agree with this name :D
Varnish Me gave me a Top10 Award: I tried to think about one thing I like in ten different versions, but ten is a big number for me :D (ok, not regarding nail polishes, but in that case I should write a Top100 or so...)

Nihirida's blog was one of the very first nailblogs I started reading months and months (and months) ago, and I compiled my wishlist practically while browsing her blog by categories, since I noticed we have very similar tastes colour wise.

Short time ago she set up a sale, and agreed to sell me some polishes I had in my wishlist (or not :D)

I know, again nothing extremely rare and/or new, but maybe the Studio M: "Energy Star" is something between a creme and a jelly, I guess it will be very glossy on its own.

China Glaze - Custom Kicks

One of my favourites nailpolish of all time (OF ALL TIME! cit. Kanye West :D), and the worst pics of it ever :¬(

I know I don't have a professional camera, it's good, not super, but usually I manage to capture colours as they appear to the naked eye.
This time it was IMPOSSIBLE: "Custom Kicks" is a green teal, but my camera considers it a blue shade, no matter which kind of light I choose.

I took many pictures - low light, in the sun, under a halogen light -, but they're all the same, so I gave up...


Next pic shows colour as it is (more or less), but I had to retouch it.


See? Seems like a robin blue :^/
At least you can spy its gold shimmer...
