Kiko - Frozen Nail Lacquer n. 03 + BeYu - n. 209

| | Comments: (9)

Yes, another layering :D

Now that I've reached +500 colours, I feel the urge to use them more and more, even if it's difficult sometimes.
This time I think I got a pretty result, a little unexpected!

Do you remember how Kiko Frozen n. 03 looks like?
I only added one coat of BeYu n. 209 and the magic happened *_____*

(indoor, daylight)

Turquoise base + red = indigo! I LOVE color theory :P

(outdoor, daylight)

From a jewel teal to a rich purple blue with red shimmer, you can't really ask for more - if you're just like me, of course :D

(upper: indoor daylight; below: indoor direct sun)

I then protected everything with Essence Better Than Gel Nails top coat, glossy and smooth.

(outdoor)

Don't you just love when you get the best effect with the smallest effort? :D

Have a nice day/night/whatever and thanks for your attention ;¬)

BeYu - n. 381

| | Comments: (8)

Hi all :>

This is the first colour I wore in 2013, couldn't have been any other colour but a blue? :D

A GREAT blue, let me tell you; I showed it in this post some time ago.

First of all, my camera didn't capture the green-teal side, and I don't know why, since that it was there all the time.. Pity, if you see my bottle shots, that's how your nails will look most of the time :/

Anyway, this is a blue jelly base, with duochrome shimmer (blurple to teal) and silver glitters: just like a night in mountains :>

(daylight)

Pictures show the purply side, not the teal >.<

(direct sun)

It's very reflective and shiny, a great festive blue.

(daylight)

I tried many lighting conditions, but you have to trust me when I say you this is a must-have, and looks better in real life.

These are three coats, happy application, not so happy price: BeYu is priced more than €6 here :^(
But I think you can still find it, n. 381 isn't a limited edition shade.

(outdoor daylight)

Maybe you can see some teal in the pic above?
Mh, not so much, but that was my last try :D

This is a complex blue, you won't surely get bored with it!

Have a nice day/night/whatever and thanks for your attention ;¬)

Essence - Grumpy + Layla - CE52 + BeYu - n. 209 + Pure Ice - Heartbreaker

| | Comments: (5)

Well, when "Grumpy" started to show its bad side (chips :D), I thought about a layering of mine...
This time I only used four nailpolishes!

(indoor daylight)

It was summer and we were having sunny days, so I wanted something complex and full of different shimmers.
Characters pictured below, in order of... application!

- Essence "Grumpy", seen solo here :>

- Layla CE52;

- BeYu n. 209;

- Pure Ice "HeartBreaker".

Layla made "Grumpy" darker and gave it flakies; BeYu made them like lava (I really liked that effect!) and Pure Ice added that lovely green shimmer all over <3

(half shade, half sun :D )

This is another way to use several colours at one time, you know I love sheer polishes and I know they can be combined in infinite ways... Clearly I prefer blues, but hey, here I had RED flakies and I liked it!

(full sun)

See the picture in shade, flakies are just like lava pieces *_*

But all of these colours showed together every time :>

BeYu - n. 330

| | Comments: (10)

A train of favourites lately, but it's not my fault :D

Remeber BeYu n. 330 here? How not to love it?

(full sun - lilac on the sides <3)

Mh, grey base filled with duochrome glitters = glassflecked turquoise/pink <3

(daylight)

Even better (as we know well) in daylight *_*

Pink/lilac side shows itself easily, trust me, and less grainy than my pictures.

This is the perfect shade for snowy days, there are such a bright diffuse light you can see all the colours together on your nails!

It's not a light shade, though, because its base is a medium gunmetal grey.

These are three coats; it doesn't dry so quick, it takes a while, but that's ok with a colour like this :D
Very original, don't you think?

Kiko - n. 333 + BeYu - n. 209

| | Comments: (18)

Ok, THE king combo of the year (almost, I think my absolute favourite of 2011 is this one).

Thanks to the magnificent n. 209 from BeYu, I was able to recreate a Clarins 230 look-a-like, which is not bad since I will never get the original one...

Well, not just the BeYu, but a very great deep purple by Kiko helped me with this manicure.

I showed you n. 333 here, and you see now the deepness of this purple, so dark and saturated.
It's not a unique colour, but this is what we have in Italy, and considering it's a Kiko, you may know about its good quality, good brush, etc. :>

The main characters:

I took this picture in the dawn lighting, that's why it's so warm.
Pretty as well, eh?

We had sun the previous week before Christmas, but I was unable to take pictures in the open, so I tried to capture the green side of the shimmer... in my bathroom -.-
But it's there!

And here it is how it looks in artificial light, so sparkly and precious!

I liked this a LOT, you may have noticed it by the number of pictures :D

I applied two coats of n. 333 and two coats of n. 209; it was beautiful with just one coat of n. 209, but oh well... :D

The good BeYu (INCI 31) isn't that easy to find, but if you have a Douglas near you, I suggest trying several times searching for it and NOT giving up, because I was able to find other bottles to send out to some girls who requested it.
Remember this colour it's part of the BeYu regular range, it's NOT a limited edition :>

The purple Kiko is a creme, not a jelly one, but that's ok, I guess I'll use it for other interesting layerings such this one.

New multicolour adds (again!)

| | Comments: (12)

Did you notice most of my latest adds are multichromes, in different ways?
Ok, life is grey, especially in this era, especially in this season (I'm talking about the sky), therefore I want colours.

I don't know if it's just me, or lately cosmetic brands decided to pump their labs and issued so many interesting finishes, shades, etc.

Anyway, last week, I got the last two parcels I was waiting for.
First one, that goes without saying, from USA, containing three Kleancolor.
Sent at the end of July, it arrived few days ago... But they were perfectly wrapped and no damaged at all.

Did you notice (again) how much I love taking pictures of bottles? Sorry for that :D But look at the details!
I think I don't even have to write down names of them, you already know the Chunky Holo range...

They're as amazing as STINKY!
I quickly swatched them on a bottle cap, and their smell was literally sitting near me while I was browsing the web, we had an interesting conversation too...

Then, I saw this post on Stregalice's blog, and:

BeYu, please stop making beautiful colours, my wallet is crying >.<
Or better, cut down prices :D

Next, my beloved parcel from Australia, that means... Colour changing pigments!
If you don't know what I'm talking about, check this post by MoreNailPolish :>

Pretty nice, I think, and the jar is full of magic dust!

I already bought three clear Essences to put pigments in; they're 5ml each, jar of pigment contains 1 gram of it, MoreNailPolish made bottles of 13,5ml by using less than a quarter of gram of pigment, so... I think I have enough ingredients to make crazy experiments.

Despite the price (not so high, I must say), I'm glad I bought them, now I can add that magic touch by myself whenever I want :>

Unicorn Pee's blood relative :D

| | Comments: (21)

Ok, sometimes chance events happen suddenly...
Oh, what a waste of words :D

Let's start from the beginning: few days ago I was browsing some Twitter accounts, because I was trying to figure out how it all works (hey, I have an account too ;> ), and I stumbled accross some tweets from The Swatchaholic, saying she found a Clarins n. 230's cousin.

It's from BeYu, a brand I've almost never heard about before that moment. It's from Germany and here in Italy (and maybe all accross Europe) is sold in Douglas perfumeries, where I never go for nailpolish rides, because of its prices.

Since The Swatchaholic said she found it in Douglas stores, I decided to hit one and, hey, I spotted a lonely bottle of n. 209, which became mine after giving Douglas €6,95 (* agh! *).

Oh well, further details after some pics :D
This polish's got even a name: "Brilliant Shiraz".

(daylight)

Indeed we can call it an almost-Clarins 230, don't you think?

Wine red jelly base full of duochromatic shimmer, from garnet red to purple, running through an entire rainbow ♥

(full sun)

Colous shifting is really noticeable; I doubt I will ever observe the one offered by Clarins' 230, but seems like in n. 230 it's way more prominent, so I really can't imagine how beautiful could be n. 230...

Note that Clarins' 230 has a cool purple base, while BeYu n. 209, as said, has a burgundy-wine red base.
As I wrote many times, I'm not a red nails girl, so I'm thinking about wearing it layered it, I can't wait to try some combination :>

Here's a colour shift in daylight, look at those hues!

And here you have it in the sun! Gold, green, teal, blue, purple... *___*

It works in shade too!

Bottle is tiny (reminds me of Zoya's ones, they're so similar, but this is like half of Zoya's), 8ml for a price of (here in Italy, abroad is cheaper) €6,95: a robbery, but it's the closest thing to n. 230 that I've ever seen, so I gave up :P

WARNING: seems like BeYu made different versions of this baby (as usual: beautiful thing are never easy to achieve...): a right one, with INCI 31 written on the back, and a duller one, with INCI 24 on the label.

I don't know any more, as I read this fact from The Swatchaholic, and didn't see any pictures of the dull version...
But if you are in Europe, and have access to this brand, please remember to check this element on the bottle!

(INCI 31, the right batch)

Unfortunately I didn't have time to swatch it or (better) wear it by now, so I had to wait until I'll return home after my vacation, maybe in the meantime somebody else will blog about it as well!

Have a nice day/night/whatever and thanks for your attention ;¬)
