Gradient: Rimmel - Pompous + Eveline - n. 464

| | Comments: (11)

Ahhh, at last I tried a gradient :D
First of all, my tools:

- Makeup sponge, which will give you the smoothest result;

- the colour chosen for your base (Rimmel "Pompous");

- the second colour, my choice was this thin Eveline I received from Sabbatha ♥

(demi-shade)

Maybe not the best result, clearly, it was my first time with the makeup sponge, but I'm satisfied, and I'll retry it with cremes.

(daylight, outdoor)

Some pictures are colder than others, just because I took them in different light conditions, and you know that purple is particularly sensitive and changes under different light sources... In outdoor locations, purple reflects the blue sky, so does the green part, that's why sometimes it appears teal.
But next picture is the most true to life colour wise:

(daylight, indoor)

What about a shot of the whole hand?
I think it looks pretty good, even if my nails aren't that long :>

(daylight, outdoor)

I chose shimmery/glassflecked varnishes, so you know I think they look at their best in shade or indoor lightings, but here's some full sun pictures:

Sparkly, dark and coloured at the same time :>

After almost two days I got some small chips here and there, don't know why, anyway I kept this many for four-five days, it wasn't that bad-looking :^P

Have a nice day/night/whatever and thanks for your attention ;¬)

China Glaze - Agent Lavender + flakies

| | Comments: (6)

Fantastic colour and you know I love those nail-art flakies I already used :>

I'm not into intricate details on nails, and this time I decided for a "french-flakie" mani!

"Agent Lavender" is a perfect light lavender pastel, formula's easy to apply, no streaks, no mess.

(bottom part of picture in the sun, lightly washed out)

Two coats of polish, and it covers all well, I don't have complaints about it!

These are the flakies I used, from Fontana Contarini's range for nailart. I love the colour base, they go so well with cold shades!

During these days other lovely ladies gave me some awards!
I don't "do" them, especially if they require talking about me, simply because I'm a reserved person, plus from a couple of weeks I'm terribly busy "outside", but obviously I appreciate them and the people who decide my blog is worth some attention :>

juntasperonorevueltas gave me a Sunshine Award: I like these girls because not only they're kind, honest and write clear and complete reviews, but they have a beautiful cat too :D
Same award from todoslosesmaltessonpocos, which I didn't know before, but I completely agree with this name :D
Varnish Me gave me a Top10 Award: I tried to think about one thing I like in ten different versions, but ten is a big number for me :D (ok, not regarding nail polishes, but in that case I should write a Top100 or so...)
Thank you again, girls, and I'm sorry I'm not able to partecipate to these awards as well as you!

Have a nice day/night/whatever and thanks for your attention ;¬)

Essence - High Waist Pink (and a little bit of nail art)

| | Comments: (7)

Hi all :>
This week, loud manicure! And pink too... Unbelievable.

Anyway, as might you have guessed from the title, this is "High Waist Pink" from their TE "Denim Wanted!", BRIGHT pink which a tiny tint of coral too. Formula is between a creme and a jelly, it's very shiny on its own.

Pics have been taken indoor, so I had to play with them to obtain the real colour, and being almost a neon polish, camera had problems; in exchange, my skin looks a little dead, but it's not that important, in real life polish appears just as you can see in my pictures :D

Noticed something? I decided to add a touch of I-don't-know and placed flakies of an iridescent plastic film I bought in Fontana Contarini shop - I already explained they sell everything you might need for nail art.
Aren't these beautiful?

It didn't take me too much time: I applied first coat of polish on all nails, let it dry, then applied second coat of polish on one nail, and, when still wet, I placed flakies one by one with a damped toothpick. In the end, I sealed manicure with two coats of top coat. That's all!
Easy and fun :>
I had to try them on different coloured bases - blues, purples, black...

Flakies on their own are slightly lavender tinged, I love them. Now I want to return to shop and buy other colours...

EDIT about wear: thanks to the double coat of top coat, manicure lasted very well, only today (november 11, 6th day of wear) I got my first chip.

Have a nice day/night/whatever and thanks for your attention ;¬)

Universe Nails

| | Comments: (5)

Thanks to Asami and her idea, I made one of the nicest manicure I've ever seen on me :>
She called them "Space nails", Emerald Sparkled "Galaxy Nails", mine are "Universe Nails" :^D

These were my ingredients:

From left, Essence's "Fabuless", Nubar's "Reclaim", OPI's "Significant Other Color", Kiko n. 229 and some shiny glitters - I used just the rounded ones.

Asami already explained all the process in her post, but basically it's just about sponging colours on a dark base with a paper towel, to give colours some texture, and then add some glitter to reproduce planets and/or stars.

"Fabuless" was perfect for the sky, because it's not a plain black and it has shimmer, so fine they can imitate stars faaaar away.

To give it a more realistic effect, you have to "sponge" colours in a nebulae form, just like galaxies appear on astronomy books.

That Kiko top coat is full of little chunkies of milky silverish glitters which are slightly duochrome too - blue/green AND purple/pink: see how it sparkles? :>

These chunkies have an irregular shape, and they reproduce stars very well, it's fascinating to look at!

After adding the sparkle top coat, it's time for planets, or, in this case, just blue-green and copper glitters.
Maybe it would be better to have them in a smaller size too, but that's ok, I worked with the material I own.

Last pic shows a little the duochrome side, on certain angle nails appear purple-pink.

Two coats of top coat sealed everything perfectly.
This nail art is very simple, but I LOVE the result, I'll try to replicate it with different combinations of colours, finishes and glitters.
Thanks to Asami for sharing it!
