Hi there :>
See the title? I decided to make a compilation post because I'm SO behind and, more important, now I'm hating the squared shape I had months ago :D
See the title? I decided to make a compilation post because I'm SO behind and, more important, now I'm hating the squared shape I had months ago :D
This one, I liked it so much: it's made of a purple creme, "Neon Lilac" by H&M and one of the first polishes Sabbatha sent me centuries ago <3, Lovely Color Mania n. 173.
That little H&M bottle was in a set of four or five, if I don't get wrong (yellow, orange, pink, purple and... ?), I didn't bought it, but a lovely girl gave four of them to me.
I really like this shade of purple :> and that Lovely has the perfect coloured base to show its chunky warm gold glitters on.
Next one, I wanted to try that pink Shaka I showed you in my last post, "Little Women", but you know, this Peppa Pig pink was definitely too much on its own, so I applied my beloved green flakies from Inglot on some nails.
Too girly anyway, eh? -.-°
Ok, a better look is coming :D
You know (maybe) I resist the urge to try new polishes every time I buy them, because I have varnishes purchased YEARS ago and still never even tried on... Looks like that time I caved and wore like TWO new shades in a row, how crazy I am! :D
This is the extracute Wet n Wild Megalast E2133 "On A Trip", who doesn't love a good lavender colour?
Later I added something to make it more interesting, despite my short nails of the period:
Unfortunately, I have no idea which blue is that Kiko, maybe n. 335? I don't know, but I think you can live with it and go on in your life anyway.
I made a classic gradient and I LOVED it!
I think I'll publish another post like this, because I have many more manis done in the past (it means: the first months of 2014), hope you'll like them :>
I know I'm not as regular as I did in the past, but I just want to thank all the people who still stumble in my little blog who read, look at my pictures and leave comment, please note that I always reply ALL of them, and I appreciate all of them :>
Have a nice day/night/whatever and thanks for your attention ;¬)
Boys of summer

Hi everyone!
With this song in background, you can read my post about my summer-ish new entries from 2013 - I think I bought more, but I'll show them in some next posts :D

Quandoè unknown colour/number: this is a very cool very tiny bottle of a very nice duochrome colour... Also VERY similar to Deborah n. 57 "Carpe Diem".
Ok, they're the VERY same nailpolish, too bad I didn't see it the moment I chose it :D
NYC n. 022 "Jade" (a little greener in real life), L'Oréal n. 831 "Fluo Azur" (♥) and a free Layla I got with a magazine... which I didn't like, in the end :D (the nailpolish, magazine is that kind of supposed women themes rubbish).
Anyway, it's Layla CE 66, a dusty light blue, WAY more dusty than in my pic, looks like almost a blue-grey.
Meh.
Above we have a superlovely trio:
- H&M "Shangai Nights": emerald green base, violently duochrome glitters, from blue to purple-pink, just like my hair right now :D
- Essence "Elves Like Lilac", from Fantasia TE, thank you again MaiSenzaSmalto!
- Maybelline n. 860 "Sea Sunset": this one it's more dull in real life, but it's nice in the bottle, duochrome shimmer is lovely; I tried it solo in the meantime, and I didn't like it that much, so I'll retry it over a blue base, I want to make it more vibrant.
Ok, a row of Kikos:
- from their new (now old and probably not successful) line of Quick Dry varnishes, n. 830, electric blue with lighter blue shimmer.
Not tried it yet.
- from the summer collection, Sun Pearl n. 428 (deep green with goldish "wet" glitters) and n. 429 (medium blue with wet silver glitters).
Why I say "wet"? It's just my impression of the look of these polishes, especially the silvery ones :>
Think of fine glassflecks...
- Laser Nail Lacquer n. 435 "Venom Teal", this is from the autumn collection of 2013 "Dark Heroine".
Classic duochrome blue-violet, mmh, we'll see when I'll wear it, I know I have already Essence and Catrice dupes >.<
New brand!
Not new to me, of course: Naj-Oleari is an historical italian fashion brand which at a certain point developed a cosmetic line, I remember I used to buy stuff from them when I was in high school.
Every now and then I see some nice products, but these two gems were at a cats charity sale, and I grabbed them immediately!
Blue one is a sand! Frome the Crystalizer Sandy Effect range, n. 108, it's a mix of blue-silver-pink, and in some angles you can see gold too (I think pink are duochromes); citrus yellow is n. 116, it's from Pearl XXL Sparkling Effect line, and I must say it's really sparkly!
I know, unusual colour for me, but I like it; I know it will be awesome layered or in a gradient :>
Quick cap swatches: I think these are two coats, nice ones, right?
Have a nice day/night/whatever and thanks for your attention ;¬)

Spring new buyings...
at 11:02 | Posted by Smaltoitaliano | Comments: (8)
... even if actually we still don't have spring here!
Weather is awful, few days of sun and MANY days of rain, and I'm that person whose mood it's strictly tied up with nice days, sun light and warm temperature. Great choice living in Milan, I guess :D
Anyway, these were the last nailpolishes I got in a long time, since that I then stopped, because I didn't find any other interesting colour...
From the new Catrice range, my choises:
Have a nice day/night/whatever and thanks for your attention ;¬)

Anyway, these were the last nailpolishes I got in a long time, since that I then stopped, because I didn't find any other interesting colour...
From the new Catrice range, my choises:
From top and clockwise:
- "Mint Me Up", dusty mint with old gold shimmer and glitters, nice combination!
- "Purple Reign": actually it's more purple than in my picture, and it contains blue (and some spare pink) glitters, how can you resist?
- "Shopping Day At Bluemingdales" (short names next time, pls?): not so bright in real life, I've seen electric blue swatches around the web, don't trust them :D
But I'm a sucker for blues, you know, so I really like it, could be a nice choice for anyone who wants a boost of colour without being too much over the top.
Next ones: some time ago, FabFingerTips had a blogsale, and I spied a couple of vintage things I wanted to have in my collection, so here they are!
From left:
- Mavala "Capella", I'll talk about it later;
- Revlon n. 490 "Kiwizing", see great swatches here!
I think you all know the (in)famous "zing" collection by Revlon, here's a comprehensive total view (and list) on this collection, which dates from 2000 and it was full of (now older type) duochrome shades!
In the past, Revlon used to make gorgeous nailpolishes (check Color Illusion range!), so when I saw this little gem for sale, I couldn't resist, my inside collector won over me :D
At first I thought it was similar to Nubar "Indigo Illusion", and I think they've somewhat the same formula (see the teal base?), but then I realized the final result is different, as Revlon is a duochrome, and Nubar a multichrome.
I do personally prefer Nubar, but I'm glad I've found "Kiwizing", I'm a vintage-lover and I like to own some older items here and there :D
Now it's Mavala turn: I've found "Capella" from FabFingerTips and the very same day, on a british online beauty supplier, I scored another gem from the same collection, "Orion": these are all flakies colours from the Galaxy collection, which is a 2003 SMASHING collection released when no one cared about flakies :D
The colours were "Agena", "Antares", "Canopus", "Capella", "Orion" and "Vega".
"Antares" and "Canopus" are too milky and frosty for me, while "Vega" has more visible flakies, but it's also milky, so I don't like it :D
I already own "Agena", so now my personal selection from Galaxy is completed!
I know now they aren't that smashing, but I just love these small bottles full of duochrome shimmers and flakies ♥
Don't be confused by the base colours, they're all pretty sheer, so I think I'll find the right use for "Orion" even if it's red :D
But, see below: a TRUE RED? Did I buy a RED nailpolish?
Damn yes, but CLEARLY I won't use it alone, don't worry :D
This is Shaka "Burn In Love", very metallic, very pigmented, very fiery! You can spy an orange-gold touch, yes it's there!
Actually "Burn In Love" has a magenta base FULL of goldish metallic shimmer = RED
One coat.
See? Pink base :> So metallic!
See? Pink base :> So metallic!
On to the new adds: Elsa bought for me one of the most beautiful colours of this year:
It's beautiful and nice too! :D
Here it is Color Club "Portfolio" *______________*
No words needed, if you liked Zoya "Adina", you'll NEED "Portfolio", here's my cap comparison:
One coat each.
They aren't dupes, "Adina" has a lilac base and a lighter green side, "Portfolio" is much stronger, colder and pigmented.
I love both ♥

Lastly, two amazing H&M bottles: "Blue" and "White", clever names :D
El Corazon inspired? Who knows :D

My kind of rainbow

Below here they are my January-February new adds :>
Kind of boring, uh? Forgive me *_*
Another view, enjoy reflects and scroll down for names and numbers :>
1) Shaka CH4 "Peacock": turquoise-emerald creamy base, gold metallic veins *_*
2) Kiko Sugar Mat n. 643, a small swatch here :>
3) Essence "Life Is A Freeride"...
4) ... and "Goofy-Blue", from Snow Jam TE; unfortunately not really colour accurate :|
5) Kiko Celebration Nail Lacquer n. 424, from the Colours In The World spring collection, swatch here.
6) H&M "Active Blue", one of the newest colours, so saturated and full of pink and blue chunkies ♥
7) Shaka "Pandora"...
8) ... and CH5 "Indigo" (swatch here): they look similar, but they're not, as "Pandora" is a deep and rich purple with some metallic reflects; "Indigo" is a dupe for this blue Kiko (supposed to be a duochrome).
9) Depend n. 313, doesn't need any introduction, right? EDIT: many many thanks to MaiSenzaSmalto for having picked me this amazing little bottle outside of Italy ♥____♥
10) Shaka CH2 "Purple".
Ok, Shaka does collection, but as I said before, their site is a complete mess, and not all colours are shown together, if they're part of a collection, or they aren't shown at all, so to sum up, CH collection ("chrome"?) is composed of five shades (overview here), in the end I bought four of them.
"Pandora" comes from another collection, Color Cosmo (overview here), it includes many beautiful shades even if not so original (at least for me :P ).
Detail shot, for your viewing pleasure :>

Below, detail of "Active Blue" and n. 313, plus a last minute new entry, Deborah Sense Tech 100% Mat n. 10: bought because on sale, it claims a "velvet" effect, I liked it because it's not a creme, but contains small glitters and a metallic shimmer, we'll see them better when I'll wear it :>
Lastly, two neutral colours for those dim days, when I'll want to wear something calm on nails :D
Sinful Colors "Glass Pink" and Kiko Holographic n. 399 (another sale buying)... Now I have enough neutral holographics :D
I've also made a quick comparison with Ebalay A02; "Glass Pink" is pretty sheer, two coats on cap, I hope it will give that natural finish touch to nails... Not sure if I'll wear it alone though :D
Have a nice day/night/whatever and thanks for your attention ;¬)
Ruffian: Kiko - n. 350 + Kiko - n. 231 + H&M - Aqua Splash
at 10:15 | Posted by Smaltoitaliano | Comments: (10)
Someting a little different this week :>
Ruffian design isn't for me: my nailbeds are too short and my hands aren't superslim, so ruffian can shorten them, BUT I tried it anyway with the help of a great glitter varnish :>
Ruffian design isn't for me: my nailbeds are too short and my hands aren't superslim, so ruffian can shorten them, BUT I tried it anyway with the help of a great glitter varnish :>
(outdoor daylight, sorry of the out of focus areas)
Actually I used two glitter varnishes, or I wanted to use two, but Kiko wasn't easy to manipulate for the effect I had in mind, so I just dabbed some hex and you'll rarely see them in pics :D
"Aqua Splash" is an awesome clear base with these holographic microglitters in turquoise shades, so sparkly in the sun *_* (another bigger picture here)
H&M releases these little gems every now and then, so you always have to take a look at the cosmetic corner when you're there, because they're limited and change very often!
Kiko n. 231, I have it since ages and never used, I bought it because it was nice to look at the bottle, but not really my style, must use it with parsimony :D
(indoor daylight)
Kiko n. 350 comes from the 2011 Christmas limited edition collection called Light Impulse, which also featured these ones.
It's not holographic, but I liked it as a neutral shade with a non-boring touch (look at the sparkles!).
I can describe the colour like "warm stone", not grey and not brown.
Two coats without top coat.
(direct sun)
It changes a little under different lightings, but I think you got the idea...
(indoor daylight)
I got bored with it soon, lol, thats' why I added this fake ruffian :D
Not all nails ended up just like I wanted, because "Aqua Splash" is a little tricky if you want to give it a precise shape like this, but that's ok :>
(artificial light)
Maybe it could be easier with loose glitter, instead of using a nailpolish? Try it if you have it, then let me know :>
Have a nice day/night/whatever and thanks for your attention ;¬)
More new entries!

Seems like my haul posts are more successful than my normal posts, eh? :D
Ok, more goodies from, erm, October? November? Can't remember anymore.
:D
Ok, more goodies from, erm, October? November? Can't remember anymore.
Aaaahhh, precious gem on the right!
But let's start from left, as usual...
- Essence "Jacob's Protection", from the Twiliblabla TE; don't care about theme, really care about great BLUES!
- H&M "Antique Gold": looks darker and sparklier than in my pic, anyway, don't really know why I bought this one, it's just that I like old, aged gold... :D
- Astra Holo n. 703: these were free together with a women magazine (...), so I HAD to buy it, because this colour is sooo good and I've never seen these in Milan.
- lastly, THE gem, the nailpolish of the Year(s), The Masterpiece... call it whatever you want, this is Magnetic "Freakin' Violet"!
Looooooong story behind this bottle, many emails to several distributors, even pleading with other nailpolish freaks for buying with me this beauty to lower shipping costs a little, until I got it...
Look details!
"Freakin' Violet" has an electric dark purple jelly base, green shimmer and those electric blue flakies... Can't stand so much awesomeness :D
Check NailXchange swatches, if you don't know this yet!
(please also notice "Jacob's Protection"'s beautiful glitters °_° )
Next!
Obviously we nailpolish freaks called each other on Twitter for this "women-magazine-with-free-holos" promotion, and I took advantage of the kindness of the lovely MaiSenzaSmalto in order to get another nice holo, the dark teal one, n. 705:
Pictured together with the blue: what a lovely couple ♥♥ :D
NEW (for me) italian nailpolish brand!
Mi-Ny Cosmetics is fairly new in the italian beauty market, not the cheapest on the Earth, but I've seen some really interesting colours in the displays, so I grabbed some...
There are many many colours available, some new, some already seen, and some which, for my tastes, would have been waaaaaaayy better with or without that particular detail, i.e.: check Gnomagno's last post; n. 251, "I Love Seul" is a great colour, but contains also cheap-looking bar holo glitters, I think they ruined the final effect...
Anyway, my tastes, just remember swatches on the website aren't "real-life" accurate!
Onto my picks!
From top:
- Top5 "Top Violet": I really really wanted this to be a simil-TRUE-jelly nailpolish... No, it's not; I mean, when I bought it I knew it was one of those crystal coloured topcoaters for gradient manicures , but I thought it was pigmented enough... Mmmh, we'll see that in one of my next posts :>
- "Blue Sky": damn, never seen a sky as electric as this varnish!
- "Calla Lily" (lolwut name): I remember at least two or three other greens so similar to this one, I mean in the Mi-Ny store! One green was a little more acid, another one more olive toned, another one more... Well, I know one green lover (maybe two!) who would be so happy to see them in person :D
This one is a forest-dark emerald green, blue based, with an intense metal-shimmer (it makes sense!), bbbbeautiful.
- Holographic Touch "Brown", ahhh, first mistake: this is the same spitting holo nailpolish contained in Shaka bottles.
Didn't take a photo, but I've made my trusty cap comparison and they're literally
indistinguishable
Price per ml is slightly higher for Mi-Ny, but only €0,10 about...
Details!
Anyway, great colours in general, they totally worth a visit (or two, or three :D), hope to return to store soon :>
Have a nice day/night/whatever and thanks for your attention ;¬)
H&M - Spending Cash With Carl
at 10:18 | Posted by Smaltoitaliano | Comments: (6)
After nude... here comes the blue :D
What a blue! This is one the best blues made, and one of the best H&M shades in my opnion...
What a blue! This is one the best blues made, and one of the best H&M shades in my opnion...
(indoor, full sun!)
Sadly discontinued, isn't the most original - I have like 5-6 blues like that from many brands, but I really like these electric dark blues!
I love it because of the deepness of colour, it's not flat, it has those nice shimmer and it doesn't stain :D
(indoor, daylight)
Its' bright enough to appear always blue - I don't like "almost black" colours - and it has that glow inside... I labeled it as a metallic, I think it fits.
My ideal blue, you can't go wrong.
(indoor, artificial light)
I used two coats, if I remember correctly. Look at the purply flashes here and there <3
Whole hand look (I'm no more tanned here >.< ):
(outdoor, daylight)
This is a must have; one day I'll do a comparison between my other blues, I'm curious to spot the differences (if there are any!) :D
Have a nice day/night/whatever and thanks for your attention ;¬)
End of summer, start of autumn new adds
at 11:32 | Posted by Smaltoitaliano | Comments: (8)
Little number on the left keeps increasing, who knows why?
On to the new adds! (there are more coming, to be honest...)
On to the new adds! (there are more coming, to be honest...)
Clockwise:
- Essence Colour&Change "Unexpected Galaxy": this is one of those nailpolishes which changes thanks to top coat (it works also with just clear nail polish) and the only colour I liked. Foily foil purple, more cool than warm;
- Essence "Chic Reloaded", most expected by me from the new Colour&Go range :D Really deep duochrome, NOT a dupe of "Where's The Party?", we'll see that later;
- Sinful Colors "Cinderella": ahhhhhh, some new SC arrived here in Italy, price has been lowered under €4, and I found this gem which I really liked after seeing it on many many other blogs <3
- and... Sinful Colors "Nail Junkie", which I know it's an old shade for US girls, but finally I was able to find it here!
- Essence "Oh My Glitter!", you've probably already seen it swatched here and there, very beautiful lilac purple with pink, blue and gold micro-chunks *_*
Below the comparison between "Where's The Party?" and "Chic Reloaded".
You can easily notice that they're really different, and shift one the colour of the other :D
When one is green, the other one is purple and vice-versa :D
When one is green, the other one is purple and vice-versa :D
Next, some italian stars.
As long as I hate Pupa prices, I gave up in front of the China Doll collection, and bought four out of six colours (I left a nanny pearl pink and an orangey red).
Must admit that these colours aren't the most original (the deep red is seen also under Misa, OPI, and others I don't even remember...), but, just look at the deepness °_°
From top: n. 619, n. 410 (it's a true purple in real life, not that blue), n. 732, n. 731.
They're like jewels, colours are so intense I think they're all one coater :>
Below, a comparison with another italian gem I bought some time ago.
This is Shaka "Deep Passion" on the right:
I thought they were dupes, and technically they are, just in different concentrations: Pupa has more shimmer, so it's more pigmented, while Shaka is more sheer, but also more blue, which is a plus for me :D
Two beauties *________*
H&M buyings: "Free Your Mind", blue with purply-lilac and silver shimmer or micro-glitters, and "New Moon", gold flakies top coat.
H&M buyings: "Free Your Mind", blue with purply-lilac and silver shimmer or micro-glitters, and "New Moon", gold flakies top coat.
One word about those new real silver and gold top coats: I think they're a huge
waste of money, and I can't believe some girls go "oooohhh" and
"aaahhhh" over these, are they so stupid? You pay too much for a
nailpolish, put real gold on your nails and then remove it after few
days and throw it away? Let me say: LOL
Marketing is so powerful, they would even be able to make girls buy a nailpolish made out of po*p, if only they wanted to.
Sorry for anyone who will get offended, I know I'm sometimes grumpy and rude, but I just can't stand these... things.
Last new essence I liked: "Crack Me! Pearly Pink", which is a glitter crack nailpolish, but it's not pearl and it's not really pink, more fuchsia...
Have a nice day/night/whatever and thanks for your attention ;¬)
