Nubar - Verde + SpookyNails franken + Deborah - 3DTech top coat n. 102

Hi all :>

New post with a flakie-fest on my nails!

I love flakies, so when Sabbatha sent me her multicoloured-flakies-in-a-maroon-base franken, I loved her a little more :D

I sponged it over "Verde" in a "ruffian" shape, and then added some colder touch on tips with the blue flakies from Deborah °_°

Arent' they gorgeous together?

Don't you just love the pure rainbow... no, the FULL spectrum of colours in that franken? ♥

I remember Sabbatha used a LOT of stuff, I LOVE she succeeded in creating such a festive mess in a bottle :D

It was so sparkly too, this franken also contains multicoloured glitters.

Blue swap!

I think at this point you all know how much I love blue nail varnish, so you won't be surprised while looking at all this BLUE magnifience *_*

The lovely Wing  contacted me because she wanted to taste some italian deliciousness (Shaka holos, anyone? :D)

Since that Shakas are pretty cheap, even if  I'm so close to Donald Duck regarding funds these days, I agreed making a swap with her.

Result? 13 new blues for me!

W7! What a blast, these blues are... so blue!

From left:

- "Metallic Neptune", very similar to Essie "Dive Bar", so I made a comparison:

One coat each.

For me they are dupes: pigments are the same, while Essie's base is thinner, so W7 is better...
I hate when such things happen, I paid €11 for Essie >.<

Whatever, now I can use them without fearing of running out of this colour :¬D

- "Blue Lagoon", AWESOME combination of a blurple base with purple/lilac veins (yes, they're like marble veins <3 ) and tiny spare silver glitter... Quite unique.

- "Blue-Tini": great duochrome glassflecked polish, a tad sheer, but I know it can be used alone (I guess, at three coats) :>

- Sally Hansen "DVD", classic one, now I own it °_°

- Essie "Bobbing For Baubles": ok, this is not a blue, but it's a pure steel grey, it contains a blue-violet hue... I could wear it!

Second misc trio :>

- Nicole by OPI "Baby Blue", slightly dusted light blue creme. I think I can wear it these days, since that we're having grey weather :°°°

- Do I really need to tell you which colour is this? :D

- Bourjois "Bleu Violet": aahhh, this is one of the most sought after colours I had in my WL... BLURPLE jelly, a little more on the purple side than shown in my picture, and I put it in my "cold purples" drawer, but it's more blue than a purple, lol. Make sense, don't you think?

Last, a beautiful gem Wing made by herself: a blue holo!

Look a t the day light section of picture: it's so holo even when under a diffuse light, Wing made a great job <3

Bottle is so tiny and cute I almost don't want to use it :D

So, now I have 110 blue nailpolishes so far, not bad :P

Frankenpolish - lilac/duochrome/holo

Hi all :>

This time, a franken of mine, better: a FAIL of mine...

Remember this post, when I received half of a bottle of "Let Me Go" by Sinful Colors? I wanted it because I liked it in the bottle :D, but I also always read terribile reviews about it: it's straky, FROSTY, too much sheer... So I immediately thought: what if I add some scoops of Specktraflair holo pigment?

Well, I got a little fail :D

Infact, frostiness remained, which is the worst side of this nailpolish...

I layered, I think, two coats over two coats of Essie's "Lilacism", and I didn't like this result AT ALL, I removed all after taking these pictures, almost never happened to me before :D

Maybe it looks better from pictures, and someone may like it, but I don't think I'll wear it again, see that green frost reflection? >.<

All in all, colour it's not that bad, but I thought the holo pigment would have dulled the frost side of "Let Me Go"...

I was WRONG :D

April's stuff

... Stuff I got in April.
Oh my, lately I'm getting so many bottles. Beautiful bottles *_* :D

From left:

- Berry-magenta JELLY from Basic Beauty, n. 68PE. How rare is a jelly nailpolish here in Italy? And it won't even be the only one in this post!

- Debby n. 186, blackish base filled with blue/purple glitters (not big size, almost a shimmer). Impulsive purchase :D

- Basic Beauty n. 15: pink-mauve creme. A little runny, but I think it will be awesome on nails. Feminine, but not corny :D

- Debby n. 175: dark emerald metallic. Another impulsive purchase...

Next pic shows the two Debby in detail:

And below you see a comparison: n. 175 reminded me of a glorious Essence discontinued green, "All Access", and I thought they were almost dupes, looking at the bottles, but my cap-test reveals they're different:

Then, a franken: remember this Sinful Colors "Let Go"? I tried to improve this colour by adding some scoops of Specktraflair pigment, but I'm not sure about the result: I got a semi-sheer lilac wiht a STRONG green reflect (but a little frosted) and holographic side.

 

Bottom part of the picture shows one coat of the franken over Essence "Passion For Fashion": in direct sun you can see the holo rainbow and the green side (it has been difficult to catpure it)... I have to try it again and find a good colour base.


Next, my first magnetics... Of course a purple and a blue :D

Upper, Prestige Bijoux, n. 03 "Topaz". It's just the purple I was looking for, cold and dimensional.

Bottom, Debby n. 4, "Neptune": it's a blue which reveals violet when magnetized = ♥ ♥

Then, more Shaka gems:

First one, "Storm" (great name :D ), it's a rich semi-glassflecked nailpolish, you know my tastes :D

The other two are jellies! DARK jellies ♥

I don't understand, how it could be possible? :D

And now a demostration: look at the sheerness; these are one coat each, and you can see they're actually a purple and a blue, even if, to the naked eye, in the bottles they look VERY similar.

I wanna try them alone and see how many coats they require to cover the nails :D

But I know many of you thought about glitter sandwiches :D ^_^

New multicolour adds (again!)

Did you notice most of my latest adds are multichromes, in different ways?
Ok, life is grey, especially in this era, especially in this season (I'm talking about the sky), therefore I want colours.

I don't know if it's just me, or lately cosmetic brands decided to pump their labs and issued so many interesting finishes, shades, etc.

Anyway, last week, I got the last two parcels I was waiting for.
First one, that goes without saying, from USA, containing three Kleancolor.
Sent at the end of July, it arrived few days ago... But they were perfectly wrapped and no damaged at all.

Did you notice (again) how much I love taking pictures of bottles? Sorry for that :D But look at the details!
I think I don't even have to write down names of them, you already know the Chunky Holo range...

They're as amazing as STINKY!
I quickly swatched them on a bottle cap, and their smell was literally sitting near me while I was browsing the web, we had an interesting conversation too...

Then, I saw this post on Stregalice's blog, and:

BeYu, please stop making beautiful colours, my wallet is crying >.<
Or better, cut down prices :D


Next, my beloved parcel from Australia, that means... Colour changing pigments!

Pretty nice, I think, and the jar is full of magic dust!

I already bought three clear Essences to put pigments in; they're 5ml each, jar of pigment contains 1 gram of it, MoreNailPolish made bottles of 13,5ml by using less than a quarter of gram of pigment, so... I think I have enough ingredients to make crazy experiments.

Despite the price (not so high, I must say), I'm glad I bought them, now I can add that magic touch by myself whenever I want :>

Blue-holographic-slightly-duochrome franken :D

Et voilà, my first frankenpolish :>
(Edit: not the first I ever made, but the first I show here :P)

Ok, it's blue, but it was totally unintentional, I swear.
These are two coats of Essence "Cool And The Gang" and - boh? - one or two coats of my franken (I don't remember :D):

This franken was the result of a broken bottle :D
Together with the other polishes I pictured here, I wanted to show you another Essence auto rip-off: "Caribbean Sea".

On the right, the older version, on the left the newer, do you see something different?

The new version contains that slightly duochromy metallic pigment Essence seems to own in a container-like quantity, so they use it like sugar in a bakery shop.

Well, after taking some pics, I moved bottles, but the new version suddenly crashed on the floor; since I couldn't keep a blue metallic blot in my kitchen, and given that bottle broke in a way it was impossible to keep it (brush remained screwed in the neck of the bottle), I poured the leftover in a semi-empty Essence clear nailpolish, add some of Specktraflair pigment, few drops of Essence "Cool And The Gang" and this is the result:

Unfortunately, no sun for bottle shots >:^/

What about the formula?
TERRIBLE, I should've used a rolling pin to apply it instead of a brush :D

That's because I used an aged clear nailpolish base, I think, plus the "Caribbean Sea" is pretty dense itself (these Show Your Feet are meant to be one-coat polishes), so adding new pigment makes it even heavier... I tried to dilute it with thinner, but I hadn't any more space in the bottle, lol.
In a few hours, holo pigment settles in the bottom of bottle, it takes a while to re-distribute it, even if I added four steel balls.
I'll add more thinner in the future, now that I've used some for this mani, hope it will get better :D
