This time I included a very special one, you'll see "it" later :D

Do you remember the Fontana Contarini polishes?
Last week I purchased some for a girl who saw my posts and wanted the duochromes, so while there I snatched a couple (well, more than a couple :D ) for me too :P

From upper left:

- n. 76, strong amber/pink copper duochrome.

- n. X (doesn't have any sticker on), it's a clear base infused with irregular shaped glitters - like microflakies - old gold coloured, very beautiful.

- n. X again, darkest teal jelly *_*

- n. 51, it's something like China Glaze's "White Cap", but its glitters are soo tiny and multicoloured, I spied gold, orange and green... We'll see them better when I'll wear it :>

- n. 65, STRONG duochrome from lime green to orange/pink <3 Imagine it over black...

Above, a picture in the sun (yeah, SUN!) and, below, the duochrome of n. 65: isn' it beautiful?

At first, it reminded me of "Prism@tic White", but fortunately n. 65 it's much more sheer, not pearly/milky at all, so it's great for layerings :>


Then, a new Layla Ceramic Effect, a blue one with tiny silvery white glitters, and "Old Gold Buffy" from the Essence's Vampire Love TE.
Seems like I'm in the mood of old goldy shades.

Last from Essence, base and top coat from their Better Than Gel Nails range.

I already used the top coat a couple of times, and the base coat one time, because I didn't have time to do a full coloured manicure, but I'm not completely satisfied at the moment, especially with the top coat: it makes may nails so shiny for all the week, but it's way less durable than my regular clear varnish top coat, I got chips I never usually get after only two or three days of wearing...


Well, it's the moment of our (me and my boyfriend) special new "buying" - no, I didn't buy it :D
We got it one week ago...

China Glaze - Agent Lavender + flakies

Fantastic colour and you know I love those nail-art flakies I already used :>

I'm not into intricate details on nails, and this time I decided for a "french-flakie" mani!

"Agent Lavender" is a perfect light lavender pastel, formula's easy to apply, no streaks, no mess.

Two coats of polish, and it covers all well, I don't have complaints about it!

These are the flakies I used, from Fontana Contarini's range for nailart. I love the colour base, they go so well with cold shades!

During these days other lovely ladies gave me some awards!
I don't "do" them, especially if they require talking about me, simply because I'm a reserved person, plus from a couple of weeks I'm terribly busy "outside", but obviously I appreciate them and the people who decide my blog is worth some attention :>

juntasperonorevueltas gave me a Sunshine Award: I like these girls because not only they're kind, honest and write clear and complete reviews, but they have a beautiful cat too :D
Same award from todoslosesmaltessonpocos, which I didn't know before, but I completely agree with this name :D
Varnish Me gave me a Top10 Award: I tried to think about one thing I like in ten different versions, but ten is a big number for me :D (ok, not regarding nail polishes, but in that case I should write a Top100 or so...)

Fontana Contarini - n. 75

Finally, around mid december, I wore that AWESOME FC duochrome :>
Not much to say about this one, see for yourself how much it changes from various angles and with different lights.

Two not-too-thin coats cover well, I don't have really anything more to say, obviously it's now one of my favourites (how many times I write this sentence?), that's why I bought two bottles of it ;>

Comparison: H&M "Spending Cash with Carl" vs Fontana Contarini n. 85 vs Basic Beauty n. 67 (vs an old unknown Kiko)

Recently I realized I own various colours who look very similar each other, so I decided to do a quick "cap-test" and see how much they're similar.
These are all blues who have a purple/blurple edge around the bottle, if you know what I mean...

From left, H&M, Fontana Contarini, Basic Beauty. First pic is just one coat:


As you can see, Fontana Contarini covers very well, has a deeper base and microglitter. I read somewhere that H&M would be a one coater, but I disagree, it's the thinnest of all three and surely require two coats at least. The Basic Beauty one is a tad darker than H&M.

Next pic shows two coats:


H&M is the lightest - even if the colour is the same -, Fontana Contarini is perfectly opaque and Basic Beauty is dark as well, but it's the flattest too, as it hasn't too much depth.
I wore n. 67 in the past (you can take a look here): it's not bad, but I think that FC would look better on nails. See the microglitter?

Then, I saw another polish which is very close to these blues, so I painted it too next to others, to see differences. This is an old Kiko, I can't find the number on the label, one coat:


And two coats:


It's difficult to capture differences with camera, given that they're all almost dupes each other, so I tried a different angle, and here you can see that H&M and FC contain a shimmer much more visible and vivid than the others (but FC is more opaque, I prefer it over all); Kiko and BB are dupes.

Comparison: Nubar "Indigo Illusion" vs Fontana Contarini n. 75

Yesterday my beloved "Indigo Illusion" from Nubar arrived home :>
How much I wanted this one from the first time I saw it? I don't know, but now I own it and immediately thought about this comparison, since reflects of both looks so similar - but not THAT similar.

Duochrome is the same, purple with light at right angle and green from perspective; colour base, instead and fortunately, is pretty different, as you can see from first pic.
These are one coat each one:

"Indigo Illusion" is a little greener, more of a teal shade, while n. 75 is a dusty blue. Good thing!

I took this angled picture just to show you that duochrome is pretty the same, but I guess that on nails, having them a different base, they will not look so close.

Comparison: Nubar "Peacock Feathers" vs Fontana Contarini n. 75 vs Rimmel "875 Zeitgeist"

You already saw this colour previously, hope you liked the way I like it.

Since I'm in love with all strange polishes, I try to collect them - and wear them :¬D
After buying n. 75, I was curious to see what's the difference between it and "Peacock Feathers", who has the same oil-slick finish, so I put two coats of each on my trusty plastic cap and got this:


I'm glad they're not close: even if their colour structure is the same - blue/teal base full of duochrome shimmer - final result is different; "Peacock Feathers" is darker and definitely blue/purple, while n. 75 is somewhat between a lavender and purple.

Then, I saw another ANCIENT polish of mine - I bought it years and years ago - by Rimmel, which is called "Zeitgeist" ("the spirit of the age", in German), and appeared very similar to n. 75, they both have a rainbow in the bottle :>

So I put one coat of "Zeitgeist" on the white cap and here you can see the result:


That old Rimmel polish was meant to be perfectly opaque with one coat, and so it is still today - maybe it tickened a tad more with age (ok, it was like GLUE), but I have thinned it a little, so I don't care -, but I discovered it isn't a dupe for n. 75, as it's more rusty/copperish.

However, being a duochrome, it changes colour with angle, so next pics show you all the variations you can see, and you'll notice all three polishes are well distinguishable from each other!

How could you not love them?
Last pic shows better the opacity of all polishes: while you can spot the blue base in "Peacock Feathers" and n. 75, "Zeitgeist" is dense and creamy.

Rimmel bottle is just 8 ml, but it's so covering you need just one coat.
I googled it, and found it's still available - even in the new design -, don't know where though, but you can find some swatches here and there (this particular swatch is pretty recent too).

Here I have it!
Yesterday I stumbled accross this post totally accidentally, and suddenly I remembered I knew that cosmetic brand, because I saw their flag shop one day on my way home.
I was already curious about them and wanted to visit the shop, but after seeing this polish, I rushed there and found it!

Fontana Contarini is an italian professional cosmetic brand from Bergamo, existing since 70's, but I've never heard of them before.
They have a website, but you'll never find prices there. However, they're pretty affordable, despite the fact that they're a professional brand: polishes are € 6,20.
Beside polishes, they have a complete range for nail art, beads, glitters, tools, gels, chemical products, just about everything.


But I was lucky: some shades are on sale, because they're going to be discontinued - and guess what? This polish was among them :>
€ 1,20 for every polish, almost a shame. I chose that duochromy beauty and, obviously, a deep blue, full of microglitter.


I picked up a little jar full of flakies too, because I saw them on eBay and wanted to try them from way back.

There aren't many other interesting colours, at least to me, but some polishes were a little strange and bizarre, such as a combination of a milky pearly white base with a strong violet-pink flash and tiny black microglitter, not too many, like crushed pepper; then I saw a tarnished brown-olive-dark gold microglitter in a clear base, but it was in the regular range of polishes, so I decided not to buy it.
They're all 12 ml, and, at that prize, I have nothing to say.

Colour is amazing, I'll show you soon a comparison with other two polishes :>
