Nubar - Indigo Illusion

| | Comments: (8)

Hi there, ladies and gentlemen.

Few words, many pictures, this time, for one of the most beautiful nailcolours in the world :D

I know, I know: you love it or hate it, but I'm really happy my poor little camera captured all its colours so well, what you see is what you'll get on your nails, thanks to two simple coats (or three, if you leave some bald areas).

EDIT: I didn't use any coloured base, no dark/black or nude underwear, only a simple base coat!

(indoor daylight)

Sometimes they say the bottle appearance is deceiving, because you see pretty multichrome effects, but nothing like that once nailpolish is applied on nails... Not in this case! Just look at the bottle and the nails, same colours, same magical transitions *___*

(indoor shade)

Purple-pink-teal-lime green... More visible in dimmed light ♥

(indoor daylight)

Every now and then your nails will be all green, like that...

What about natural, diffuse daylight?

(outdoor daylight)

Purplish-pink with teal sides, how not to love it?
I was seriously amazed by this colour, didn't think it was that strong and original.

(outdoor daylight)

Closer shot: you won't be disappointed!

No problems during application: brush is oldest style (thin and long), but you won't have cuticle flooding and  it can cover your nail in few moves.

(outdoor shade)

I think "Indigo Illusion" is one of the most powerful multichromes I own, you can always see the colours flashing around fingers, under all the lighting conditions.

(upper left picture: indoor daylight; upper right and lower pictures: direct sun)

Sunlight brings out all the pinkness, it's a metallic nailpolish with some brush signs, but nothing so visible.

(artificial light)

Under artificial light, it becomes a little greyed out, but hey, always a multichrome masterpiece!

I remember when I saw this colour on blogs years ago, and fell in love with it from the very first gaze... Aahhh, never wore it until this time, never really knew what I was missing :D

Sorry for all the pictures, hope you liked them the way I loved taking them!

Have a nice day/night/whatever and thanks for your attention ;¬)

Nubar - Verde + SpookyNails franken + Deborah - 3DTech top coat n. 102

| | Comments: (8)

Hi all :>

New post with a flakie-fest on my nails!
I love flakies, so when Sabbatha sent me her multicoloured-flakies-in-a-maroon-base franken, I loved her a little more :D

(daylight)

I sponged it over "Verde" in a "ruffian" shape, and then added some colder touch on tips with the blue flakies from Deborah °_°

Arent' they gorgeous together?

Don't you just love the pure rainbow... no, the FULL spectrum of colours in that franken?

I remember Sabbatha used a LOT of stuff, I LOVE she succeeded in creating such a festive mess in a bottle :D

(sun!)

Look at the colours!
It was so sparkly too, this franken also contains multicoloured glitters.

(outdoor daylight)

I took many pics just for viewing pleasure, sorry :D

Angled view:

(direct sun, angled)

I liked it especially because colours were visible even from a distance, unfortunately pictures don't always capture the full effect...

(outdoor daylight)

I think now you know I like doing this mess on my nails, sometimes you can find interesting combinations :>

Have a nice day/night/whatever and thanks for your attention ;¬)

Nubar - Verde

| | Comments: (14)

Simple post today, pictures are quite enough for showing you the beauty of this colour:

(indoor daylight, little washed out >.< )

These are two coats without top coat: perfect fomula, very pigmented, sliding on the nail like oil on the skin <3

Below picture shows the actual effect: I didn't use top coat, but it's so foily it has a mirror appearance!

(outdoor daylight)

"Verde" is the perfect bronze colour, you'll have metal coated nails with this nailpolish!

No-r-way swap!

Since I've started this blog, I became an unofficial European Kiko dealer, as many girls saw these polishes all around the nailblog community and requested some in their collection.

I'm lucky living in Milan, where there are 3-4 Kiko shops (and more, not counting the ones in malls near outside), so I can easily find all I want, it's just a question of $ :¬D

Regina contacted me and asked for some purple Kikos, in exchange for some lemmings of mine from my wishlist... GREAT lemmings, I should say!
Here they are!

1) Orly "Snowcone" ♥

2) Nubar "Verde": even if it's not that verde, I love it!

3) L.A. Girl Flare - this one has no name on it, but Regina told me it's a dupe of "Groupie" (maybe this is "Midnight Diva"?)...
Anyway: dark duochromy GLITTER purple, I know isn't that new and that now there are many dupes, but... Today I have this one and I'm happy :>

4) Misa "Toxic Seduction": a little less blue than I imagined, looks like a green Sabbatha sent me - here another picture of it -, but more shimmery... Doesn't matter, it's love :D

5) Orly "Meet Me Under The Mistletoe": SO SO jewel-like, I think it will be fabolous under the spring sun!

6) Zoya "Edyta"... I know, it's pretty equal to "Verde", but I don't care, I guess that means I'll have 30 ml of the same AWESOME colour :P

7) Color Club "Wild At Heart". Nothing to add ♥ ♥ ♥

8) Zoya "Ivanka", looks like melted emeralds infused with gold particles...

How many hearts I put in the text? Haha, sorry about that, blame to Regina who sent me these beauties, THANK YOU again!

Have a nice day/night/whatever and thanks for your attention ;¬)

Nubar - Reclaim

| | Comments: (7)

Welcome to 2011 and welcome back to my nail polish log :>
I had to work hard during december, so I didn't have any time (and strenght!) to edit and post pictures, but I took them of every change of polish, so now that I have more time I'll continue with my... mission: register all my colours, in order to avoid repeated buyings and/or dupes; plus, it will help me to know which shades I prefer/I wear most of the times.

This is "Reclaim" by Nubar, and I can say this is one of my favourites, not just for his colour, not just for the holoness (is that a word? :¬D), but for its formula too: it's p e r f e c t, with a careful application you won't need any clean-up.

The day I wore this, sun was sleeping behind clouds, but look, its rainbow it still visible and so crisp! I didn't applied top coat.

I didn't even had to retouch colour balance or contrast on these pics, they came out perfect and really natural :^]

Wear: two or three days. I worked with hands too, so this affected the wear pretty hard, but I can assure you it's a really good polish, so easy to apply yet durable when it dries.

Have a nice day/night/whatever and thanks for your attention ;¬)

Comparison: Nubar "Indigo Illusion" vs Fontana Contarini n. 75

| | Comments: (3)

Yesterday my beloved "Indigo Illusion" from Nubar arrived home :>
How much I wanted this one from the first time I saw it? I don't know, but now I own it and immediately thought about this comparison, since reflects of both looks so similar - but not THAT similar.

Duochrome is the same, purple with light at right angle and green from perspective; colour base, instead and fortunately, is pretty different, as you can see from first pic.
These are one coat each one:

And these are two coats each one:

"Indigo Illusion" is a little greener, more of a teal shade, while n. 75 is a dusty blue. Good thing!

I took this angled picture just to show you that duochrome is pretty the same, but I guess that on nails, having them a different base, they will not look so close.
On top, "Indigo Illusion" and, bottom, n. 75:

Comparison: Nubar "Peacock Feathers" vs Fontana Contarini n. 75 vs Rimmel "875 Zeitgeist"

| | Comments: (6)

Good morning/night :>
You already saw this colour previously, hope you liked the way I like it.

Since I'm in love with all strange polishes, I try to collect them - and wear them :¬D
After buying n. 75, I was curious to see what's the difference between it and "Peacock Feathers", who has the same oil-slick finish, so I put two coats of each on my trusty plastic cap and got this:

I'm glad they're not close: even if their colour structure is the same - blue/teal base full of duochrome shimmer - final result is different; "Peacock Feathers" is darker and definitely blue/purple, while n. 75 is somewhat between a lavender and purple.

Then, I saw another ANCIENT polish of mine - I bought it years and years ago - by Rimmel, which is called "Zeitgeist" ("the spirit of the age", in German), and appeared very similar to n. 75, they both have a rainbow in the bottle :>

So I put one coat of "Zeitgeist" on the white cap and here you can see the result:

That old Rimmel polish was meant to be perfectly opaque with one coat, and so it is still today - maybe it tickened a tad more with age (ok, it was like GLUE), but I have thinned it a little, so I don't care -, but I discovered it isn't a dupe for n. 75, as it's more rusty/copperish.

However, being a duochrome, it changes colour with angle, so next pics show you all the variations you can see, and you'll notice all three polishes are well distinguishable from each other!

Different greens, and different purples.

How could you not love them?
Last pic shows better the opacity of all polishes: while you can spot the blue base in "Peacock Feathers" and n. 75, "Zeitgeist" is dense and creamy.

Rimmel bottle is just 8 ml, but it's so covering you need just one coat.
I googled it, and found it's still available - even in the new design -, don't know where though, but you can find some swatches here and there (this particular swatch is pretty recent too).
