Blues of last summer (and a remove-stains tip!)

| | Comments: (2)

Last summer I wore winter shades, that's it.
Maybe I just tought they would be great with tanned hands, don't now why :D

Anyway, pictures are a little too bright, as the summer sun makes these dusty colours way too intense (or it's my poor camera reaction), but that's the beauty of light, right? :>
This is Essence "Goofy-Blue", cornflower blue with silver-white snowglitters.

Sparkly and wet-looking, it's quite pretty on the beach, trust me.

Below, Catrice "Shoppind at Bluemingdales": nice colour, worst name, I HATE these stupid names à la O.P.I., what's wrong with simple numbers and codes? :D

Again, this is a perfect autumn powdery blue (if you're that kind of person who cares about seasonal colours - I'm not :D ) and here you can see it a little too brighter than its real appearance...

Last, NYC "Jade" (simple name!).
PERFECT with tan, awful on nails, it stained them badly >.<

Below you see my nails right after the polish removal, and then clean again.
I used this homecleaning product to remove stains: it's a biodegradable, non-toxic detergent made of soap, natural fats, clay, lemon, glycerin and water; in the jar it looks like a block of white stone, you have to rub it with a damp sponge in order to use it on surfaces, but I used an old toothbrush whit the smallest quantity of product to brush my nails and get rid of stains in 3 seconds!

Please note I recommend it only for those bad bad stains you can't remove with just remover/acetone and q-tips, because this is a mild abrasive detergent. I used it only once, as I usually don't get stains, and my nails didn't suffer from this procedure.

In Italy you can find it in Kasanova stores (€12 for a 500g jar, if I don't get wrong) or in open air markets.
Have you ever heard of this product before?

Have a nice day/night/whatever and thanks for your attention ;¬)

Easter eggs

Welcome back to me :D

I know, Easter has just gone, but past days (weeks) were a nightmare for me, and now I can finally write something interesting on this pages.

First of all, BIG thank you to Sabbatha (again!) for providing me a backup of "Holographic" by Gosh :D
This swap was born from her offer to send me a second bottle of it, since I bought my first one in Bruxelles and I doubt I'll return there in the very next future; moreover, seems like "Holographic" will be discontinued soon, so... Ok, Sabbatha, let's swap :D

I sent her some Kikos, ans she sent me these cuties:

1) Catherine Arley n. 674, the only one holo by this brand I really liked :>

2) Lemax Colour - I didn't find a number or a name, but it's a rich metallic magenta/purple, really really deep.

3) Eveline Gold Colours n. 464, a slightly duochrome forest green/blue foil. These little bottles are always a surprise!

4) Colour Alike n. 457, deep little dusty teal creme, a classic ♥

5) Revlon "Emerald City", you all know what's this, but it was in my wishlist :D

6) As said, Gosh's "Holographic", a backup *_*

Sabbatha, will you want to be my naipolish twin sister? :D

THEN, some compulsive buyings :^/

1) Essence Special Effect Topper "Mystic Mermaid", duochrome light turquoise/light pink silver shimmer, very pretty.

2) Essence "Cool And The Gang", my nth blue jelly -.-°

3) Deborah Shine Tech n. 60, a masterpiece of colours in a bottle, that's why I put a second picture in the bottom, see how much SHINY are the glitters in it? *________________*

4) A homemade shortcrust pastry tarte, filled with ganache and topped with fresh strawberries, I made them yesterday for dinner and I thought you too would appreciate them :D

Have a nice day/night/whatever and thanks for your attention ;¬)

Something new :>

Spring collections are everywhere finally, so I had the chance to get some nice new adds :>

From left:

- Deborah - Prêt à porter n. 25 "Emerald Bijoux", I'll talk about it later;

- Essence n. 57 "Can't Cheat On Me", a weak silver holo. I tried it on my boyfriend :D, but it took al least three coats (it's pretty watery, not patchy like the Gosh one) and holo effect is very subtle, even in sunlight.

- "Chacalaca" from the Whoom! Boooom!! collection, this is the only one colour I was interested in...

- ahem, Kiko n. 344, lightly dusted medium mint (more muted in real life).

The first one is from a spring collection of new 40 shades by Deborah (Kiko too made 40 new colours, what's the secret meaning of 40? :^D), here you can check them all better.

A great choice for all tastes, but I only noticed three or four colours:

Here's the swatch of "Rainbow Blazer", it's really a strange duo-trichrome, but its base is a light brown so, not very flattering on me :^/
"Knock Out Violet" looks like Zoya's "Mimi", it's pretty.

After buying "Emerald Bijoux", I compared it to Essence "All Access", since I noticed they're pretty similar:

They have the same duochrome side, but "All Access" is more dense and greener, while "Emerald Bijoux" is sheerer, has a dark grey base and it's in general more muted, even if I guess that duochrome is more visible on it when applied on nails than "All Access".

Maybe I'll swatch them side by side later :>

Gosh - Holographic

| | Comments: (7)

Lol, after you'll read post's title, I know it's perfectly useless to add more words, so I'll let pictures do the dirty job for me :D

I just decided to wear it because of the sunny days we HAD - because now it's gray again *grrr*
So... In full sun:

EDIT: forgot to put this one...
Direct artificial light (♥ ♥ ♥):

BUT it was a nice surprise to see how much colorful "Holographic" is in shade/lowlight too!
Look at those indoor pictures:

I LOVE how rainbow becomes of neon pastels here:

I don't have any of the special bases you'd need with holo polishes, so clearly application was a nightmare, but just the first coat.
I applied two coats over my usual base, then top coat, then another coat of Gosh, so holo effect didn't get dulled by it :>

What else to say? Come back, Sun, I need you!

Have a nice day/night/whatever and thanks for your attention ;¬)
