Ados - n. 579

| | Comments: (6)

Hands down to this BEAUTIFUL gem from my first swap with Sabbatha!

Do I really need to describe it?

Three coats of this stunning blurple-with-turquoise-shimmer precious shade are on my nails (plus a coat of Better Than Gel Nails top coat).

I remember I thinked about RBL's "Scrangie" when I first saw this Ados, but I don't know how much they're similar.
Nothing bad, as I LOVE n. 579!

I'm glad we had sun those days (rare thing here in Milan during winter!), look at the colours!

Sorry for the image bombing.

Look at it when in shade too *_________________*
Subtly duochrome shimmer, but I even wanted to show you how the Better Than Gel Nails top coat makes my nails smooth and... polished :D

Straight in my favourites!

Have a nice day/night/whatever and thanks for your attention ;¬)

Sinful Colors - Dream On

| | Comments: (6)

Sinful Colors, why are you so expensive in Italy?
€4,90, but I always wanted this magic purple, so finally I bought it.

And I'm glad I did it!

WARNING: this is NOT as you see here, it's much more dark and BRIGHT, and you won't find a true-to-reality picture on the web, I can swear it :D

My best picture of "Dream On" is the next one, taken in artificial light, so, again, colour it's not really this one...

"Dream On" it's not so pink, not so cool, not so light... I don't know how to describe it, please see it with your own eyes :D
In general, I can say it's the same colour of some species of Bouganvillea, VERY bright, I always liked those flowers (ok, they're not flowers, they're leaves, but that's ok :D).

It's a true neon purple nailpolish, so it dries absolutely matte and in few nanoseconds -.-
I applied three coats.

See how much it's glossy? Here I topped it with the Better Than Gel Nails top coat from Essence: GREAT glossiness, but after two three days my naisl were already chipped a little...
I must say they remained glossy after one week too, an effect I don't get with regular clear nailpolish.
Oh well, I'm curious to use that top coat on top of glittery and sparkly things :D

Have a nice day/night/whatever and thanks for your attention ;¬)

New arrivals... including a special one :D

| | Comments: (17)

Yeah, november buyings...
This time I included a very special one, you'll see "it" later :D

Do you remember the Fontana Contarini polishes?
Last week I purchased some for a girl who saw my posts and wanted the duochromes, so while there I snatched a couple (well, more than a couple :D ) for me too :P

From upper left:

- n. 76, strong amber/pink copper duochrome.

- n. X (doesn't have any sticker on), it's a clear base infused with irregular shaped glitters - like microflakies - old gold coloured, very beautiful.

- n. X again, darkest teal jelly *_*

- n. 51, it's something like China Glaze's "White Cap", but its glitters are soo tiny and multicoloured, I spied gold, orange and green... We'll see them better when I'll wear it :>

- n. 65, STRONG duochrome from lime green to orange/pink <3 Imagine it over black...

Above, a picture in the sun (yeah, SUN!) and, below, the duochrome of n. 65: isn' it beautiful?

At first, it reminded me of "Prism@tic White", but fortunately n. 65 it's much more sheer, not pearly/milky at all, so it's great for layerings :>

Then, a new Layla Ceramic Effect, a blue one with tiny silvery white glitters, and "Old Gold Buffy" from the Essence's Vampire Love TE.
Seems like I'm in the mood of old goldy shades.

Last from Essence, base and top coat from their Better Than Gel Nails range.

I already used the top coat a couple of times, and the base coat one time, because I didn't have time to do a full coloured manicure, but I'm not completely satisfied at the moment, especially with the top coat: it makes may nails so shiny for all the week, but it's way less durable than my regular clear varnish top coat, I got chips I never usually get after only two or three days of wearing...

Well, it's the moment of our (me and my boyfriend) special new "buying" - no, I didn't buy it :D
We got it one week ago...

This is Coal :D
Black male Maine Coon, positive FIV, one year old, he's born on November 1th *_______________*

I'm in love, it's my dream cat <3 :D

Have a nice day/night/whatever and thanks for your attention ;¬)

Revlon - Emerald City + Zoya - Edyta + Gosh - Rainbow

| | Comments: (9)

... And here it is "Emerald City" a little revamped :D

These are very dark days, weather wise, so I wanted something sparkly. I mostly wear black clothes, so I think this was a good idea to bring a little touch of light on me :>

This is a simple sponge design, just done with two colours. The actors:

First, I sponged "Edyta", which I'm in love with *_* What a great shade of olive sparkly green!

Then, I applied "Rainbow" by Gosh... well, you know it :D

Not much to say more about these gorgeous colours, they're beautiful on their own AND combined together :>

Have a nice day/night/whatever and thanks for your attention ;¬)

Revlon - Emerald City

| | Comments: (9)

Long time no post, hi all!

This has beeen a very long week, but at last I made it and here I'm catchin' up with colours ;>

This was a nailpolish I wanted for a long time, then, thanks to Sabbatha, I got it quickly without any worries: at that time I couldn't find any Revlon shades but the boring reds, pinks and pearly nudes...

Though I don't wear mattes (I tried them, and didn't like the result, I think with mattes you must have PERFECT nails), I decided to try this and then to layer over it one coat of top coat: what a beauty!

First of all, if you din't own it, I have to underline the perfect formula, it's like zabaione! (a mixture of egg yolks and sugar)
It lays on the surface of nail evenly and without flooding towards cuticules, never experienced something like that!

Plus, colour is rich, and being a matte, dries faster than acetone on your skin :D
I applied it before going to bed, it was already past midnight, and I did it all in half an hour, two QUICKLY coats.

I LOVED the subtly grainy texture: with just one coat of topcoat, you'll obtain a leather-like surface, NOT a glass effect, look at the pictures :>

Now that these Revlon are available in Italy too, I suggest looking for them, and this one won't left you disappointed, it's a rich forest green very cozy and a great option for autumn colours, other than the reds, coppers and golds :>

Have a nice day/night/whatever and thanks for your attention ;¬)

Layla - Ceramic Effect n. 04 (+ Essence - "Crack Me! Blue")

| | Comments: (5)

Lol, Layla on my nails for the third time, I swear it was totally unintentional :D

This time, a mild colour which I like so much, it's a shade in between pink and lilac, with a suuubtle white-y silvery shimmer...

Being from the Ceramic Effect range, it lays perfectly on nails, giving them a very smooth surface, look at the next picture :>
At last, a claimed performance which WORKS!
You can also notice the delicate shimmer which softens the colour and makes it a little deeper than a simple creme nailpolish...

I used two coats of n. 04 over one coat of Essence's "No More Drama", just because I knew Layla it's a tad sheer and needs three coats on its own to be full opaque.
I still don't know how to categorize it: is it a pink or a lilac/purple shade?

Five days later, I added one coat of the Essence latest blue cracking nailpolish, "Crack Me! Blue": it's a lovely metallic cracking shade, but I didn't like this combo very much, the base colour was too light, seems like I applied the cracking varnish on my naked nails...

Oh well, nothing bad, I just wanted to hide two or three chips I had after some days of wearing :>

This shade doesn't contain B3F (not like this one); I don't really pay much attention to this, because one day the ingredient A is toxic, the other day it's the B one... I try to stay away from B3F in general, I strictly avoid "made in China" anonymous products (no one dollar/euro shops!), but I think that if you're very careful with such things and like this Layla, you can buy it without twisting your conscience :D

Have a nice day/night/whatever and thanks for your attention ;¬)

Layla - Ceramic Effect n. 13 + Kleancolor - Chunky Holo Purple + Kleancolor - Chunky Holo Black + Essence - Cool And The Gang

| | Comments: (7)

Longest title :D
Sorry for it, but I prefer being precise on titles, because they contain the most important info about nailpolishes we ladies primarily search on the web: brand, names and/or numbers :>

Ok, this is my first attempt toa sandwich manicure and.. I LOVED IT.
Not just because it was, ok, blue, and a JELLY blue one (♥), but it made my nails looking like a precious glass work directly settled on them...

(daylight)

As you may have already realized, I applied the polishes in the same order listed in title; the base was this Layla, a rich jelly which can be a one-coater, that's why I chose it to be the first.
Then, I applied one coat each of the Kleancolors, and you know how much beautiful they are on dark bases :>

At first I thought Kleancolor would be difficult to apply - all goopy and so -, but I was pleasantly surprised, because they are pretty manageable, the brush is wide and clear base density is good enough to apply glitters wihout creating a mess.

BUT... we already have seen that, right? So I went for another coat of a blue jelly, this time I picked a lighter one, and "Cool And The Gang" was perfect!

It covered the glitter with a blue veil which toned down them, and letting them spark at the same time *_*

It's a good way, to me, to wear such loud glitters like the Kleancolor are, without looking a party-girl, especially if you work/live in a conservative environment, or simply you don't like blingy-disco nails.

Obviously, blue jellies are a little tricky to picture, so in real life this was as dark as vivid, and VNL wasn't... visible :D
Did you know I LOVE blue jellies? :P

The whole job lasted my regular five days, and so glossy too, so for me this is a gold medal nailpolishes combo.

Precious gems

| | Comments: (10)

Mh, I surely don't refer to real gems in the title, I just noticed that my latest purchases are of the colours of precious and semi-precious stones :>

Wanna see them?
Brand and name/number of each on the left :>

The Kiko ones are from the holiday collection "Light Impulse".

Well, first of all, let's say they're not super-unique and/or particularly original, BUT:

- maybe my collection is something I can't entirely embrace anymore in my mind, since that Kiko n. 354 is the spitting dupe of Deborah n. 60; ok, I LOVE that colour, so I can consider this as a backup, but while I was browsing the stand I didn't recall the Deborah one AT ALL, I find it pretty worrying :D

- n. 352 looks to me like a close dupe of the Missha green/blue (this one), or the Sephora "Moody Woman": I didn't buy any of these before, so this time I'm ok with it :D
Especially while looking at this picture:

Didn't enhance colours (clearly), n. 352 it's just like that!

Then, the Essences: lately the Colour&Go range got very interesting shades, and after the blues, I picked another two metallic colours, which are not so common, for my experience:

"Rich & Pretty", on the left, is a pale cold gold with a subtle pink reflect I don't know if it's visible from the image, I tried to capture it and I swear it's there :D

"Luxury Secret", on the right, is a warm gunmetal shade: I mean, a gunmetal grey with a touch of antique gold in it, very nice in person!

Last, a comparison: here you have Deborah and Kiko, together with my very last purchase, thanks to Stregalice again :D
An Avon nailpolish, "Violetta Sparkle", so beautiful...

Well, first two are clearly DUPES, look at the swatch on the cap °_°

Fortunately, "Violetta Sparkle" is much darker, more pigmented, a little less glittery and foiled; these are all one coat:

Now I'm ok with them, I can tolerate a dupe/back-up, but at first I thought the Avon too would be a third copycat of Deborah :D

Layla - Metal Sense n. 9

| | Comments: (14)

Hi all :>

This is one of the two Layla I showed you here :>
Absolutely beautiful, I must say:

(daylight)

Rich metallic purple with an auburn heart <3
As you can see, on nails it's just like it appears in the bottle, so I'm pretty satisfied.

Even in low light it shows its two sides :>

These are bad weather days, so most of the times I'm under an artificial light, and here it is how it looks like:

Fabulous.
I applied three coats over a nude coat: being a true metallic polish, its formula is composed of a medium sheer base loaded with metallic pigment, so I gave nails an... underwear, according to the GREAT tip I learned here from The Manicured Manatee.

New multicolour adds (again!)

| | Comments: (12)

Did you notice most of my latest adds are multichromes, in different ways?
Ok, life is grey, especially in this era, especially in this season (I'm talking about the sky), therefore I want colours.

I don't know if it's just me, or lately cosmetic brands decided to pump their labs and issued so many interesting finishes, shades, etc.

Anyway, last week, I got the last two parcels I was waiting for.
First one, that goes without saying, from USA, containing three Kleancolor.
Sent at the end of July, it arrived few days ago... But they were perfectly wrapped and no damaged at all.

Did you notice (again) how much I love taking pictures of bottles? Sorry for that :D But look at the details!
I think I don't even have to write down names of them, you already know the Chunky Holo range...

They're as amazing as STINKY!
I quickly swatched them on a bottle cap, and their smell was literally sitting near me while I was browsing the web, we had an interesting conversation too...

Then, I saw this post on Stregalice's blog, and:

BeYu, please stop making beautiful colours, my wallet is crying >.<
Or better, cut down prices :D

Next, my beloved parcel from Australia, that means... Colour changing pigments!
If you don't know what I'm talking about, check this post by MoreNailPolish :>

Pretty nice, I think, and the jar is full of magic dust!

I already bought three clear Essences to put pigments in; they're 5ml each, jar of pigment contains 1 gram of it, MoreNailPolish made bottles of 13,5ml by using less than a quarter of gram of pigment, so... I think I have enough ingredients to make crazy experiments.

Despite the price (not so high, I must say), I'm glad I bought them, now I can add that magic touch by myself whenever I want :>

Rimmel - Green With Envy + Ozotic - n. 504

| | Comments: (3)

Picture heavy post this time, sorry in advance if this is a bother for any of you :^/

First of all, I like layerings, they're fun and make me use my polishes a LOT more than just simply slapping them one by one every week :>

These are three coats of "Green With Envy" plus two coats of n. 504:

(daylight)

Same here, but in artificial light, it was SO dark outside in the morning...

(artificial light)

This combo was born totally random because of... lacking of time :D
One sunday evening (well, night), I decided to apply this Rimmel, which is a BOMB of aqua-emerald metallic green polish; problem is that it requires at least three coats (so sheer!), and it dries very slowly: result, you get bubbles >.<

Here it is "Green With Envy" on its own, bubbles and everything :D

(artificial light)

Another shade so hard to picture: it's a tad greener in real life, but you can see it has a blue side too. ♥_♥

I wore it alone for a day, but I hate bubbles, so I tried to cover them up with something else; so why not to choose a multichrome polish?
You don't always had to wear them over a black, they're AMAZING over lighter colours too!

Next two pictures are just one coat of n. 504, how beautiful?
N. 504 lays a purple veil over the green *_*

(artificial light)

But remember n. 504 is a multichrome, from purple to orange/gold, look at those colours!

(artificial light)

After two days, I decided to add another coat of n. 504... Perfection!
Here I managed to capture all the colours, it really has that oil slick appearance on surface and it's even way more visible to the naked eye!

(daylight)

It changes a little from indoor lighting to outdoor, indoor is deeper and much more intense, outdoor (overcast) it shows more colours:

Unfortunately, sun didn't show up too much these days, I bet this would be fantastic in full sun, but, oh well, I'll retry it in spring.

"Green With Envy" alone is a great colour, just be sure to have some time to let it dry well in between coats :>

Have a nice day/night/whatever and thanks for your attention ;¬)

No witty title, just fabulous colours :>

Yesss, another Spooky-swap :>

Sabbatha is my first nailpolish-mate, it's always a delight receiving a parcel from her, and I'm always in debt with her because of her kindness :>
She learnt fast my tastes and this time is just as GREAT as the others.
Sabbatha, you're my Santa! :D

But I was wondering: why show swaps in public? I don't know about you, but I filled a BIG part of my wishlist by looking at swap images too, because in them you can often find local precious (and inexpensive!) brands you might not be aware of, because they're unavailable in the country you live in....

We all know China Glaze, OPI, etc., but since the first swap with Sabbatha, I realized Poland is sometimes so much better than USA regarding nailpolish brands choice!
There are MANY brands, they have many ranges and colours are amazing, original, exciting; best part? They're CHEAP, and I say that in a good way, I mean: you SAVE your money and gain a top product.

So, Sabbatha, THANK YOU again!

Are you curious? :>

1) China Glaze "Rodeo Fanatic" - I don't like rodeos, just in case - BLUE!

2) Sensique Oriental Dream n. 259 "Moss Temple" (It's the exactly shade of "Green Brown" pigment by MAC made in a nailpolish formula)

3) Sensique Oriental Dream n. 265 "Sky Over Silk Road"

4) Sensique Oriental Dream n. 264 "Jewel Of the Orient" Sabbatha swatched all these three (and the others from the Oriental Dream collection) here and here. Now that I have them in front of me, I understand why she was so amazed, they really look like bottled silk shantung!

5) Wibo n. 352: this is more than a metallic golden olive, it's not a shimmer, VERY deep and very opaque.

6) Golden Rose Scale Effect n. 15: *____________* multicoloured flakies *____________*

7) Nyx "Jungle": in my WL since the first time I wrote it, I then bought a similar shade (and sent it to Sabbatha :D), but Nyx is much more deep and vivid.

8) Wibo n. 355, a blue a day, the doctor's gone away...

Close-up of the magnificent three: from top, "Sky Over Silk Road", "Jewel Of the Orient" and "Moss Temple".

Together with all these beauties, she even sent me a decant of her gorgeous franken:

Is it finished? NO! :D She gave me this pigment too!

IMPOSSIBLE to picture it!
I had to tweak colour, in order to show you as it is to the naked eye, and now that I upload this picture I'm blind, it's really as bright and ELECTRIC as above, just darker.
Colours like these look always lighter in pictures...

Hope you've found interesting items to add to your WL as well :P

Have a nice day/night/whatever and thanks for your attention ;¬)

China Glaze - Frostbite

| | Comments: (13)

Et voilà, blue's back :>

And what a great blue!
Thanks to Nihrida who sold this to me, I finally canceled "Frostbite" from my wishlist.
It's just like I expected, and NO frost at all!

(daylight)

What do you think? To be honest, it's a tad darker in real life, it has those almost-neon pigments which make crazy my poor camera, it's VERY vivid and electric, but deeper.
I think the blue shimmer too contribute to enlighten the colour in photos...
I took a picture against light to show you a little how it really appears:

Mmmh, love at first sight.

Next picture is very true to life, under an artificial light:

I love how it's so blue that becomes almost blurple at edges!

Not much more to add: these are two coats plus some other strokes here and there; formula is a bit watery, but covers well, and clean-up is easy as usual.
Maybe it's a little slower in drying, but nothing you can't handle.

Have a nice day/night/whatever and thanks for your attention ;¬)
